We’re delighted to share that new talents emerging from the Vikram Sarabhai Children’s Innovation Center (VSCIC) are making waves not only in their local communities but also on national and global stages. Two remarkable VSCIC whiz kids, Kavya Manojbhai Gondaliya and Karnav Rastogi, have demonstrated the power of young minds to drive innovation and change.
Kavya Gondaliya recognised by the city MLA
Hailing from Amreli and a student at the Dr. Kalam Innovative School, Kavya Manojbhai Gondaliya, has become a source of immense pride for his community and all of Gujarat. Kavya’s journey to prominence began at the Innovation competition organized by the Vikram Sarabhai Children’s Innovation Center. With unwavering dedication and ingenuity, he crafted an innovation that earned him national recognition with the National Children Innovation Challenge.
Kavya’s achievement did not go unnoticed. The BJP Jan Sampark office “Kartavyam” extended their heartfelt congratulations, acknowledging his remarkable contribution to the field of innovation. Kavya was recognised at the hands of Mr Kaushik K. Vekariya, MLA of Amreli. This young innovator received words of encouragement and blessings, along with accolades for elevating the nation’s pride, both on a national and global scale.
Kavya’s outstanding idea about rescuing wild animals also drew the attention of ACF Trivedi, who recognized his innovative approach. Kavya’s contributions and achievements are a source of inspiration for fellow students who come to the campsite for wildlife education. His journey is a testament to the possibilities that arise when young minds are given the opportunity to explore and innovate.
Karnav Rastogi secures a place among Times of India’s ‘Unstoppable Under 21’
Karnav Rastogi is another exceptional talent who found recognition through his participation in the National Children Innovation Challenge (NCIC). His remarkable journey didn’t stop there; he was chosen as one of the “Unstoppable 21” youth under 21 years of age by The Times of India. This initiative aims to highlight the exceptional achievements of young individuals who have made a significant impact.
Karnav’s achievements were celebrated when he was awarded by the Union Education Minister, a testament to his extraordinary abilities and contributions. His story, along with those of the other 20 young talents, was captured in a video that was played at the award ceremony, showcasing their incredible work and dedication.
Karnav is an author-cum-poet turned global climate change warrior. He is also a UNEP speaker, WWF Conservation hero, and the only Indian and the youngest recipient of the Messengers of Peace Hero Award 2022 for my work on climate change from the Philippines. He has also been bestowed the International Young Eco-Hero Award and the Panorama International Prodigy Award from Greece for my work on Climate Change, I am also the recipient of the Sony BBC Young Earth Champion Award & winner of the National Science Challenge on solar power for household societies. I have developed 2 plastic trash collector devices for the collection of plastic from various types of water bodies.
